Bagshot is of Saxon origin, originally in a parish with Windlesham. Coaching inns were the major reason for Bagshot’s original prosperity. It is on the outer edge of the “green belt”, the natural vegetation of the area is heath land.
There is an adequate range of shops centred on the High Street along with restaurants and public houses.
Recreation facilities in Bagshot are afforded by two multi use sports fields and a cricket field. Each have a pavilion/social club. There is a tennis club and several golf clubs. An indoor centre with comprehensive facilities and swimming pool is available in Camberley.
Major towns such as Camberley (5 miles) and Guildford (12 miles) host a good mixture of shops, restaurants, entertainment and pubs. Windsor and Ascot are within easy distance and afford great historical days out.
Bagshot is situated on the A30 where this is crossed by the Guildford to Reading road. The M3 motorway forms Bagshot’s southern boundary and the village is off junction 3.
London Heathrow airport is about 15 miles away and you have a choice a main railway stations to chose from including Camberley , Sunningdale and Virginia Water.
For families, there is an infant and junior school in Bagshot. The local secondary school is a Technology College and is situated just outside Bagshot. There are a number of pre-school groups of various types, and the nearest of these visit the church for their nativity play.
