The welcoming town of Pontardulais, or Bont as it is affectionately known, is located in the county of Swansea, just 10 miles north of Swansea city centre. A quiet hamlet for centuries, the town was transferred from a rural settlement into an industrial community in the 19th century with the arrival of the railways and the manufacture of tinplate. When the tinplate works moved away, this proud, friendly town successfully managed to retain a strong community feel. Today the town boasts the most successful competitive male voice choir in Wales, and is also home to Pontardulais Town Brass Band, which is one of the oldest town bands in Wales and has many national and local accolades.
For everyday living, the well maintained town centre offers a fine selection of retail, leisure and essential amenities including supermarkets, high street names, individual unique retailers, library, pharmacy, doctors surgery, church and vets to name a few. Places to eat and drink include cafes, traditional pubs, bars and restaurants.
Education is served at all levels with local primary and comprehensive schools and also a Welsh language school.
For those who enjoy outdoor life, the stunning surrounding countryside will provide hours of recreational activity, with the beautiful Gower Peninsula, Black Mountains and Pembrokeshire coastal path only an hour’s drive away.

The local leisure centre offers a multi-purpose sports hall with varied indoor activities available including cricket nets, badminton, table tennis and many more.
An all year round programme of cultural events helps to ensure the community spirit is kept alive, including the Pontardulais and Hendy Carnival, the Agricultural Show and the Classic Car and Motor Show
