This small village has a lot of history, Disley was the hometown of Lord John Hunt who led the first ever successful Mount Everest expedition in 1953. It is also home to multiple Olympic gold medalists.

Disley Village is located about 6 miles east of Stockport with its vast array of leisure and shopping facilities and is close to the Peak National Park and the border of Derbyshire.

Waters Edge is situated in a convenient location about 0.5 miles from the village centre, where you will find shops, pubs, medical surgery, the station and the local primary school.

For shopping, both Poynton (approx 3.5 miles) and Hazel Grove (approx 4 miles) have the larger supermarkets. Stockport (approx 6 miles) is home to an array of retail parks and leisure facilities including a cinema and bowling alley.

Leisure

Disley has many attractions such as Lyme Park which is a large estate managed by the National Trust with far reaching moorland walks, a mansion house and Deer Park, which was the location used by the BBC to film Pride and Prejudice. Or you could wile away the hours watching the narrow boats meandering down the canal or take advantage of the many walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
