Directions

Leave the A1(M) north/south at junction 62 and follow the A690 towards Durham City. Turn left onto New Elvet and then turn left onto Old Elvet. Old Elvet turns slightly right and becomes Whinney Hill. The destination will be on the left.

Shopping

Durham city has a variety of shops that would suit your daily needs, including Tesco and Sainsbury's supermarkets, Iceland Foods and a local newsagent. The Prince Bishops Shopping Centre and The Riverwalk offer a wide choice of high street stores, including Next, New Look and Marks & Spencer, and a variety of restaurants and cafes.

Leisure

Durham City is host to many leisure activities and sports, including those at the Freeman's Quay Leisure Centre, just a mile from Cathedral View. Here you can enjoy the gym, exercise classes, courts, pitches and two pools. Also within walking distance of the development is the Gala Theatre which offers a variety of comedy, dance, music and theatre productions as well as a two-screen cinema.

The local area enjoys green spaces, parks and scenic countryside, great for spending outdoor time with the family and the dog. Wharton Park makes a fun day out, with a new Heritage Centre, cafe, play areas and miniature car track, and Crook Hall is a Grade I listed Medieval hall with stunning gardens, a maze and activities for children; both are within easy reach of the development. You can also walk along the River Wear, amble through Aykley Wood Nature Reserve, picnic in Broompark or visit the Durham Heritage Coast, approximately half an hour's drive away.

Education
