The Scottish Government recently announced its Draft Budget for
2018-19 which includes the intention to introduce a new relief on Land
and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) for first-time buyers in Scotland.
It increases the zero-rate threshold from the current level of £145,000 to £175,000 meaning a saving of up to £600 for you. Great news when you’re buying your first home.
It’s likely the consultation on LBTT policy proposals will commence in January 18 – we’ll keep you posted….
