Glasgow is well provided for by the rail network, with two mainline railway stations linking it to the countrywide network, as well as to many locations in West Scotland. Queen Street station provides services mainly within Scotland, while Glasgow Central provides a service linking locations south of Glasgow, and includes the West Coast main line to London Euston.
Another method of transport for Glasgow residents is the city’s subway system. The subway provides a regular service around the city centre and West End of Glasgow in a loop, and carries over 13 million passengers every year.
Glasgow also has a large number of bus routes, mostly managed by the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT). Buchanan bus station, in the city centre, sees over 40,000 passengers every day.
Glasgow has three international airports close by, linking the city to many locations worldwide.
