Shinfield has easy access to both Junctions 10 and 11 of the M4, linking London to Bristol and beyond to South Wales. Reading, Earley, Winnersh and Wokingham train stations are close by so you’ll enjoy speedy journeys to Heathrow airport and London Paddington, which is only a 30-minute train journey. London Waterloo is only 1 hour away by train.
Heritage Park is close to infant and primary schools, both of which are less than 1 mile away. There’s also a good selection of secondary schools in the local area, both state run and private. And the University of Reading is now ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide.
Reading is renowned for being one of the UK’s top 10 shopping destinations and it’s easy to see why. The modern Oracle Shopping Centre has over 80 stylish shops, a 10-screen cinema and, when you need to take a break, there’s a choice of riverside restaurants and cafes. Other more historic gems await you too, such as Forbury Gardens, a nationally-acclaimed Victorian formal garden and the ruins of Reading Abbey - an ancient monument and burial place of King Henry I.
If you’re a fan of the outdoors, you’ll be able to make use of a host of footpaths and cycleways surrounding the parish. Loddon Valley Leisure Centre, just 1.6 miles from the development, offers a good selection of leisure facilities, including a swimming pool, and there are junior clubs in the village for football, cricket and tennis.
