Open weekend at Stone Cross Mansion

Prospective buyers can finally see inside the restored Stone Cross Mansion this weekend.

The historic house, in Ulverston, has been sympathetically transformed from a derelict shell to an extraordinary development of 19 contemporary apartments.

The building – and its stunning show apartment – will be open Saturday and Sunday 25th-26th May from 12 noon to 4pm.

Local historian Robert Wheatley will deliver a short talk on the Kennedy family, former owners of Stone Cross Mansion, both days at 3pm, with donations in aid of St Mary’s Hospice.

Diane Finch, sales and marketing director for Charles Church Lancashire, said: “Stone Cross Mansion truly is a hidden gem. The architecture of the building, and its magnificent landscaped surroundings, make this a most unusual place to live, or the perfect weekend bolthole, close to the Lake District.”

The renovation has enabled the protection and restoration of the building’s period features whilst creating a collection of modern and practical two and three bedroom apartments.

Following the open weekend, the development will be available to view by appointment. No appointment necessary 25th-26th May.
