Stunning views lure Andy back to hometown

Many people have grown tired of the view from their windows after a year in which everyone has spent the majority of time confined to their homes – but that will never be the case for Andy Jones.

Andy was one of the of the first residents to move in at our Golwg Y Glyn development in Fforest, Pontarddulais.

With stunning views over the Swansea Valleys, it’s easy to see what attracted him to the site.

“It was all about the area for us,” said Andy, who has relocated with his wife Katherine and four children aged between four and 16.

“The house is beautiful and large enough for us all, but it really was all about the location.

“I’m from the area and the kids wanted to be closer to their friends. It’s a small, private site with just 35 houses. And the views are simply unbelievable.”

Andy had a head start over other househunters as he is, in fact, a site manager for Charles Church’s sister company, Persimmon Homes.

He’s been with the company for 15 years having started out as a forklift driver and is currently working on the developer’s The Bridles site in Llanelli.

The 45-year-old owned a Persimmon Homes at Parc Brynderi in Llanelli before deciding to up sticks and return to Fforest.

“I heard that the company was developing the site so I kept my eye on progress and moved quickly when they were released for sale,” said Andy.

“We’d only been at Parc Brynderi for 14 months but it felt the right move. We went for the four-bedroom detached Mayfair property, which is just the right size for us and built to a very high standard.

“We were also able to use Charles Church’s Home Change scheme, which meant they marketed our existing home for us. It sold within two weeks which I was delighted about and we could move straight away to Fforest. It certainly took some of the stress away.”

The exclusive development is found on land off Clos Benallt Fawr.
