Lenton

Lenton is an energetic area of Nottingham. It’s home to Nottingham University and the ground-breaking design of the Jubilee Campus, and the Queen’s Medical Centre, one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe. It’s lively, it’s popular, and it’s an exciting place to start life in a new home. Lenton is within walking distance of Nottingham’s city centre in one direction, for shops and nightlife, and Wollaton Park in the other, for 500 acres of breathing space which includes a deer park, lake, historic country house and the city’s natural history museum.

Getting around

The Lenton area of Nottingham is served by the A52 which links directly to the M1 to the east. To the Southeast the A52 crosses the River Trent and heads on to join the A46 – a key route right across the county and its neighbours, linking the M5, Evesham, Stratford-on-Avon, Coventry, Leicester, Newark-on-Trent, and Lincoln. If you don’t have a car, don’t worry, the local bus services into the centre of Nottingham are frequent and quick. Nottingham Train station offers mainline services from East Midlands Railway, CrossCountry, and Northern Line, with destinations across the country.

Local facilities

Lenton has a good range of local shops, supermarkets, takeaways, and pubs, and with Nottingham’s city centre just one mile away, you’ll have high street brands on hand too. The Lenton Centre is the neighbourhood’s gym and leisure centre, and you don’t have to go far for other options, such as the Lenton Recreation Ground, the Nottingham Tennis Centre, and the David Ross Sports Village. If you want to take things at your own pace, Wollaton Park is an amazing local open space amenity with something for all the family, as is the Highfields Park Boating Lake. For rainy days, Tenpin Nottingham and Showcase Cinema de Lux Nottingham are close to the Clifton Boulevard, one of the city’s main through routes.

University life

There are several benefits to living near a university campus and its public spaces, from conference centres to arts centres, from summer courses to evening classes. Lenton’s residents can also enjoy the Lakeside Arts Performance Venue, the Old Botanic Garden, and the walking routes around the Jubilee Campus and the University Park Campus.
