Pershore

Pershore is a lovely and historic market town on the River Avon in Worcestershire, close to the Vale of Evesham and just over 9 miles southeast of the county town of Worcester. The High Street is the jewel in the crown for the town, with rows of listed buildings and independent shops. This pretty rural area is also conveniently placed for Birmingham and the M5, so a new home here will appeal to those who commute for work and to families who want to be close to the countryside as well as having easy access to the city. Pershore is on the route into the Cotswolds via Evesham, Broadway and Moreton-in-Marsh. It’s also within reach of two classic and famous towns; Cheltenham just over the border in Gloucestershire, and Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire. It’s a wonderful place to call home.

On the map

Pershore is in an excellent location for several key destinations. You can join the M5 at Junction 7 just outside Worcester, or at Junction 8 further south at Strensham.  The A44 passes just to the north of the town and is one of the main routes into the Cotswolds, taking you via Evesham. From Evesham you can also pick up the A46 for Stratford-upon-Avon or Tewkesbury. Pershore also has a train station, about a mile out of the town at Pinvin. It’s on the Cotswold Line between Worcester and Oxford.

Local services

This thriving market town has everything that you could want. The High Street is packed with independent shops and places to eat, there’s a covered market, one supermarket in the town and another on the outskirts.  Worcester, just a short drive away, offers a wide range of high street stores but for day-to-day shopping you won’t want to leave Pershore. Schools follow Worcestershire’s three-tier system and so there’s a first school, a middle school and a high school with a sixth form to choose from.

Things to do

On home ground, there’s an Arts Centre and a range of sports clubs for all ages, including the Wychavon Kayak & Canoe Club – making the most of the River Avon. For a day out you can choose culture in Stratford-upon-Avon, the great outdoors of the Avon Meadows Community Wetland, browsing for antiques in the picturesque villages of the Cotswolds, or golf at one of the local courses.
