With the Gower, the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the doorstep, Swansea’s beautiful waterfront position is enviable. Lazy days on sandy beaches, stunning coastal walks, spectacular views and perfect surfing waves make the Gower a haven for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

It’s not just award-winning beaches and unspoilt countryside that Swansea can boast about. The city is also home to stunning botanical gardens, a Premier League football team and stadium and a thriving entertainment scene. From cosy pubs in the city to stylish restaurants and bars in the marina to mouth-watering local ice cream parlours on the pier at Mumbles, and with a range of music, dance, theatre, film, festivals and arts venues, there’s something for everybody when it comes to entertainment in Swansea.

There’s plenty of local history and culture to soak up too. The National Waterfront Museum, the Dylan Thomas Centre and Swansea Museum offer a fascinating window into the history of the city and its residents, while the ancient castle is also well worth a visit.

If you love keeping active, you’ll appreciate Swansea’s striking LC leisure centre, which offers excellent fitness facilities as well as a wave machine, 30ft climbing wall, an indoor play area, a spa and a sauna.
