Uckfield is about 20 miles from the coast but has the bright lights of Brighton on the horizon and the rest of the South Coast within reach for a quieter seaside experience.
The town is surrounded by the lovely East Sussex countryside and with the A22 on its western edge, it’s easy to get up to the M25 and down to Eastbourne. This is definitely a county for the great outdoors and it’s good to have the balance of a home town with a really good range of facilities and amenities. Uckfield has another bonus – it’s only 22 miles from Gatwick Airport putting international travel within easy reach.
A new home here opens up some great opportunities whether you want to stay local or head further afield. The countryside, the coast, the colourful city life of Brighton offer something for every lifestyle.
Uckfield is a good-sized town with plenty of amenities on hand. There are five primary schools and a secondary school for your children, a railway station for commuters – Uckfield is connected to London Bridge station on the Oxted line. There are excellent local bus services, and you can catch the National Express coast to London too. Local shops, supermarkets and a superstore give you plenty of choice. There’s a hospital, a leisure centre with a pool, a Picture House cinema and several places to eat out or takeaway.
As well as Brighton, which certainly has a claim to fame as a great place to get to know, you can plan beach days at some of the South Coast’s favourites – Worthing, Hastings, Eastbourne, Bexhill on Sea and Littlehampton.
