Cosy rules: teenage girl bedroom ideas (that we love)
Emma came to Charles Church for a work-experience adventure – and left us all inspired with her take on the perfect bedroom.

We had the pleasure of collaborating with Emma, whose love for interiors and writing truly shines through.
She’s shared her vision for a stylish, modern teen bedroom – thoughtfully designed for a young woman in 2025. It’s full of inspiration, and we’ll admit, we’re taking notes too.
Emma’s guide to the cosiest bedding
After a long, tiring day, you need to be sure that you receive the best beauty rest. Every girl deserves it. Read on for cosy bedroom ideas that will transform a plain bed into a lovely, luxurious, cloud-like haven (that’s pretty too).

Express yourself with bedsheets
Let’s start with the bedsheets. First of all, there must be a pattern on it. Patterned sheets will make the bed more detailed and give a rustic look. It will immediately be transformed from boring to beautiful, and you can never go wrong with florals.
If you want to keep your sheets plain, maybe choose a textured bedsheet instead to add extra detail – just make sure you love it.
We all love…
Blankets. You can’t do cosy bedding without blankets, especially in Winter when you want to snuggle up in bed. They are a key character in the world of cosy-bed lifestyle, and have so many features. They’re decorative, practical and comfy, all at the same time!

It’s not a bed without…
Lots of pillows are an absolute essential for a cosy bed. Why? Because it’s so incredibly fun to jump into a perfect pile of pillows after a long day of hard work.
The pillows can be symmetrical and organised, or they can be mismatched with a range of different shapes, colours and textures to give your bedding a more authentic appearance. It really is up to you – and there are so many pillows to choose from, so go crazy!
And while we’re on the pillow topic, I would suggest investing in a reading pillow. It’s so useful. Especially for teenage girls, as it’s great for doing homework, watching a movie and, obviously, reading. Plus, it’s great for your posture as well.
A healthy investment
Sleep is very important, and as a teenage girl, it’s key for growth. Literally.
A cosy bed means a healthy lifestyle. Sleep plays a huge part in your mental health, so it’s a priority to treat it (and your bed) well. A teenage girl is expected to get 8-10 hours of sleep every night to maintain growth. Also, those 8-10 hours need to be good quality, and the relaxing environment of your comfy bed makes a big difference.

Walls shouldn’t be left empty
It can be tricky trying to come up with ideas for your bedroom wall. To fix this, you could paint the wall with a pop of colour. Teenagers would be so much happier waking up to a colourful room. Or maybe try finding a new favourite wallpaper instead?
Storage can be beautiful
A perfect way to complete your unfinished wall could be with shelves. Specifically, hexagon shelves.
Frequently making an appearance in a teenage girl’s bedroom, hexagon shelving has a trendy shape and structure. Creating a honeycomb effect, they make any room seem more alive and sweet like honey.

Mirror, mirror…
It’s important to review your outfits in the mirror before going out, and a full-length mirror is the perfect way to complete any teenage girl’s bedroom. The mirror also helps to fill up any empty wall space, and it goes with almost anything.
Tick tock
For most teenage girls, it’s easy for them to get distracted and lose track of time, occasionally making them late for events – a simple clock on the wall can fix this.
A clock is a perfect excuse to fill up your wall. It’s practical and decorative at the same time, and helps you to keep track of time, making you much more organised. By placing a clock on your empty wall, you’ll never be late for any event again.

Finding the best lighting for your room
Lighting is a key concept for your room, especially when you want your bedroom to look spacious and open.
It’s important to focus on what kind of lighting is best for you. For example, you could embrace the natural light, giving your room a warm glow that comes from your window – plus, it won’t cost you a penny.
However, if your room doesn’t get a lot of sunlight, you can focus more on extra decorative items, such as table lamps or floor lamps.

Add comfy seating
Your mind works best when you are relaxed, which is why seating is a crucial part of your room transformation. Chairs should not just look pretty, they should also be practical and comfortable, no matter what.
The forever beanbag
Beanbags are all the rage at the moment, and most teenagers have them in their bedrooms.
A good choice due to their mouldable shape, a beautiful beanbag brings so much happiness because it meets comfort expectations perfectly. However, it doesn’t have to be a beanbag.
Floor cushions are a great boho bedroom choice too, and are an amazing way to add colour.

Bring in nature
By adding plants, you can introduce a splash of green to your decor, such as a well-placed cheese plant by your window, which can give your room a whole new look.
When it comes to plants, it's important to keep on top of them with all the care they need to stay green and alive.
If you’re not the best at tending to them, the alternative could be to get a fake plant instead. However, keeping a real plant in your room can purify the room and improve air quality.
Go for neutral tones
Keeping a simple, authentic colour scheme will prevent your bedroom from looking messy and cluttered. Neutral tones can help to maintain this, particularly when it comes to bedroom theme ideas for teenage girls (or even boys).
A fresh and clean look, neutral tones blend so naturally and keep your colour scheme simple and chic. Easy to coordinate with any colour, you can equally keep a fully neutral scheme. A great way to maintain your neutral palette is to find soft pastel bedroom accessories in the latest shades.
A bedroom style that suits your needs
Be aware of your needs and expectations – your bedroom won’t be complete until you know exactly what will make you comfortable and happy!
The key to a perfect bedroom makeover is experimentation. Try new colour palettes, look at multiple ways to decorate your walls and add anything you think is needed to achieve your dream room look.
