Finding the perfect new home at Chancery Park, Exning
When buyer Ev decided it was time for a change of scenery, Charles Church’s Chancery Park development in Exning was the stand out choice.
Time for a move
Finding a new place to call home will always be easier said than done; having built our lives around the opportunities that Cambridge brings, we knew after many years that we wanted a change, albeit without straying too far from the city. As a family that lived in new builds previously, another new build was – without a doubt – our go-to option due to the low energy bills, modern finishes, electric vehicle charging… the list goes on.
There was only one question left: which one?
“Throughout our searches, the Charles Church Chancery Park development in Exning always stood out. “
Finding the right development
We spent many months scouring the local area, visiting numerous developments by other developers that never quite managed to tick all the boxes. Some were unjustifiably overpriced; others lacked a respectable garden. Yet, throughout our searches, the Charles Church Chancery Park development in Exning always stood out.
The variety of house designs was plentiful, as was the functionality and character of each one for day-to-day living. Some will argue that new builds lack such character – this is not what we found to be the case, especially with the house design and plot location which ultimately sold itself to us.
With only a walking distance from the development to a post office, corner shop, primary school and a bus stop, it was not only the homes themselves that were impressive, but the very location in which they were developed too. By this point it was evident that Chancery Park was the development we were looking for, a choice made all the firmer by its proximity to the A14 with which to commute to Cambridge.
“Not only did the development stand out from the crowd, but so too did the very plot that we chose”
The perfect plot
We soon realised that not only did the development stand out from the crowd, but so too did the very plot that we chose. The Oxford house type is unlike any other: the unique L-shaped layout stands out from every other plot, its very structure creating a beautiful front façade that cannot be matched. The living room, office, and 3 bedrooms look out onto a forest, with birds chirping regularly while they perch on the branches of many great trees. In fact, some are chirping now as I write this testimonial.
I won’t forget the moment my father placed his finger on the plot map, pointing directly at this plot with a strong display of preference. Unfortunately, we lost my father to stage 4 cancer during our journey to find a new home. While he did not live to see the house we find ourselves in now, we knew that this very plot had his stamp of approval – it had to be this plot and no other.
“Our sales advisor Natasha went above and beyond. Her training, resources and expertise had shone through during our entire buying journey.”
Personalising our home
Choosing the plot was only half the journey; we now found ourselves with a plethora of options regarding Select Options, each of which required much careful consideration as well as thinking ‘what would Dad have wanted?’. Our sales advisor Natasha went above and beyond. Her training, resources and expertise had shone through during our entire buying journey. No stone was left unturned, and we were given a say on every detail from major kitchen and wardrobe fittings to outdoor sockets and lighting. Natasha noted all of our choices with meticulous detail, taking extra care to ensure the right measurements were sent to the wardrobe company.
On the point of wardrobes and kitchens, these were supplied by Gooding and Symphony respectively and on close inspection, it became clear that both had already provided a set of unique choices for all of the property types; this demonstrated a level of collaboration between Charles Church and its suppliers beyond merely providing off-the-shelf fixtures.
All of us at Charles Church wish Ev and their family the very best in their new Oxford home at Chancery Park, Exning.
