Carmarthenshire

Are you looking for a new home in Carmarthenshire?

This rural county in West Wales comes with some amazing natural credentials. It sits comfortably between the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Gower Peninsula Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the beaches of Cardigan Bay. What a backdrop for a new home here.

Carmarthenshire has its own coastline too, where the River Towy spreads out into Carmarthen Bay. The pretty coastal villages here have their own claim to fame – Pendine’s endless sandy beach has been the setting for many world land speed record attempts and Laugharne was home to Wales’ most famous poet and writer, Dylan Thomas.

Carmarthen is the town at the heart of the county, and with Swansea just over the border to the east, the contrast and energy of city life is on hand too.

The M4 connects South and West Wales with Bristol and London. At Carmarthenshire’s border it becomes the A48 and at Carmarthen it joins the A40 into Pembrokeshire to the west or into the wilds of the Brecon Beacons to the northeast. The expression ‘the best of both worlds’ applies to living here several times over.
