St Davids
St David’s is the UK’s smallest city. It’s a gorgeous place with an amazing history for your new home to become a part of. In the very far west of Wales, close to the Pembrokeshire coast, which is a National Park, this is a pretty unique place to call home. St David’s attracts plenty of visitors throughout the year, which is great for the local economy and for the community – in fact it’ll feel like a treat living here, with all the cafés, restaurants, galleries and craft shops. Back down to earth, Fishguard, Haverfordwest and Milford Haven are the nearest towns for work and shopping.

As St David’s is so historic, it’s been treated with great respect and is very unspoilt. At the same time, it’s very popular with families seeking that all important quality of life. It might be off the beaten track but it’s no backwater.
Getting around
St David’s is right on the far west tip of Pembrokeshire. The A487 is the main road connection with the A40 at Haverfordwest – the largest town in the area - and Fishguard. They are both about 16 miles away and both have train stations connecting the West Wales Line with mainline services. This rural area of West Wales enjoys good local bus services connecting to both stations, cheerfully called the Strumble and Puffin Shuttle services.
Going to school
St David’s Peninsula school for 3 – 16 years, has locations in St David’s and in nearby Solva. Another option is Roch Primary School, which is halfway between St David’s and Haverfordwest. In addition to Haverfordwest High School, a brand-new secondary school is being built on the site of the former Sir Thomas Picton School. Another secondary school option is Ysgol Bro Gwaun in Fishguard.
The great outdoors
It’s fabulous to have the ancient history of St David’s on your doorstep, but Pembrokeshire is very much about being outside. The coastline is a National Park and that says something. With dramatic cliffs and hidden bays, you’ll be very likely to spot puffins and seals from the coastal path. Fishguard is where you’d go for ferry services to Rosslare in Ireland, but it’s still got a lovely old harbour at its heart. Whitesands Bay is the go-to place for a family day out on a huge sandy beach and visiting the offshore islands will make you feel as if you are on holiday.
