For a town of a modest size, Alsager has an impressive range of local shops and amenities. For a wider choice of shops, you could make the short journey into Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent, Hanley or Crewe where you’ll find enough high street and independent stores for a full day’s spree.

Great local schools
Families will children of all ages are drawn to Alsager for the fantastic range of schooling on offer. Younger children have a choice of five primary schools: Highfields, St Gabriel’s, Pikemere, Excalibur and Cranberry Academy – while Alsager School provides ‘Outstanding’ secondary education and the National Autistic Society Church Lawton School is rated ‘Good’.

Get out and about
There are many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and stay active in and around Alsager. Formerly the centre point of the town, the Mere is a lake just off the main shopping street, which now provides a peaceful spot to enjoy nature. In the heart of the town, you’ll also find Milton Park, a favourite among families. There are a number of playgrounds around too and on the western edge of the town, Cranberry Moss Nature Reserve is a great place to visit with children or dogs. If you’re looking for something a little more challenging, it’s just a 35-minute drive to the edge of the glorious Peak District National Park.

Alsager benefits from its own train station, providing speedy direct links to Crewe, Derby and Stoke-on-Trent – ideal for commuters. If you want to travel by road, Alsager is at the intersection of two B roads which connect many of the local towns and villages and is just 3 miles from junction 16 of the M6, putting Manchester, Liverpool and Stafford within commuting distance.
