Suitably called Royal Berkshire, this is one of the Home Counties that encircle London. The second great county landmark is always on the go, the River Thames. The M4 is the great route from Wiltshire and Oxfordshire in the west, to London and Heathrow via Reading.  The M3 is a direct route to Southampton and the south coast. Trains into central London are a stroll in the park.
