The town boasts excellent sports facilities. The Olympiad Leisure Centre is a hub of activity, with a swimming pool, gym, fitness classes, football and badminton courts. There are swimming lessons and activities for children as well as a crèche for little ones. Further sports facilities can be found at Sheldon Sports Hall, located in the parkland of Sheldon School, and Stanley Park is the place to be for aspiring footballers.
You can enjoy the outdoors at Monkton Park, an open space adjacent to the River Avon, approximately a mile south of Birds Marsh View. Equipped with a children’s play area, it’s a great destination for family picnics and dog walks. John Coles Park is also nearby with its mature trees, well-tended flower beds and Victorian bandstand.
