Chippenham

Located in northwest Wiltshire, Chippenham is a popular market town with so much to offer its residents. Nestled on the banks of the River Avon, its bustling town centre is home to a wide selection of well-known stores.

A great choice of local leisure facilities

The town boasts excellent sports facilities. The Olympiad Leisure Centre is a hub of activity, with a swimming pool, gym, fitness classes, football and badminton courts. There are swimming lessons and activities for children as well as a crèche for little ones. Further sports facilities can be found at Sheldon Sports Hall, located in the parkland of Sheldon School, and Stanley Park is the place to be for aspiring footballers.

You can enjoy the outdoors at Monkton Park, an open space adjacent to the River Avon, approximately a mile south of Birds Marsh View. Equipped with a children’s play area, it’s a great destination for family picnics and dog walks. John Coles Park is also nearby with its mature trees, well-tended flower beds and Victorian bandstand. Other family attractions include the Lacock Abbey National Trust site, Longleat and Bowood House and Gardens. Situated in an enviable position between the Cotswolds and North Wessex Downs AONB, you’re never far from stunning scenery in this part of the country.

There’s a good selection of schools for all ages in and around Chippenham, including Corsham Primary School and Winsley CofE VC Primary School - both rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. Hardenhuish and Sheldon are the secondary schools and there's also the Chippenham campus of Wiltshire College.

Chippenham train station, located in the centre of town, provides a mainline connection to Bath, Bristol, Swindon and London. Just over 4 miles from the M4, the town benefits from excellent access to the motorway network, putting you within commutable distance of Bath, Bristol and Swindon. For travel further afield, Bristol Airport has a wide range of national and international destinations – ideal for business or leisure.
