To some residents, Burbage is a village, to some a small town, and to others a popular suburb of Hinckley in Leicestershire. The old Burbage village still exists and as it’s grown it’s become well integrated with Hinckley and enjoys a share of all the local facilities there.
Burbage is midway between Leicester and Coventry, and with the M69 on its doorstep and the M1 and M6 within easy reach, a new home here makes commuting around the West Midlands easy.
It’s a bonus to have a semi-rural location so close to all the action of Birmingham and with good local facilities and plenty of choice when it comes to schools in Burbage and in Hinckley, this a good family-friendly place to live.
Road and rail
As well as the motorway network that serves this area, train services from Hinckley tick the box for commuters too. The station is on the CrossCountry Birmingham to Peterborough Line. The average train time from Hinckley to Birmingham is 40 minutes, to Coventry, the fastest train time is an hour and to Leicester, it’s just 20 minutes. If you have international travel on the agenda, Birmingham Airport is just 35 minutes away by car.
As Burbage is very much a part of Hinckley, there’s an excellent range of facilities and services to make the most of. Supermarkets include a Tesco Superstore, secondary schools include Hastings High School, the Hinckley School – a grammar school, and the Redmoor Academy. The town offers a choice of green spaces, the largest being Burbage Common & Woods, a 200-acre site for everyone to enjoy.
Living in this area puts you close to historic Warwickshire with castles and countryside to explore. Royal Leamington Spa is a shopping trip destination and further afield, Stratford on Avon will give you history and culture in one place. Leicestershire is actually a much more rural county than people imagine and so you’ll not be short of country walks and picnic spots.
