How does Part Exchange work?

Assuming your home qualifies* for Part Exchange, here’s what happens next:

Step 1: Valuation

We’ll get two independent valuations for the property you’re selling, so we can agree a fair and realistic price with you.

Step 2: Purchase

We’ll make you a formal Part Exchange offer for your property. If you’re happy with the offer, we’ll begin the process of purchasing your existing home and even cover the estate agency fees for you.

Step 3: Reservation

You can reserve your new Charles Church home and start your buying journey, safe in the knowledge that you have an agreed sale on your current property, and could be moving in a matter of weeks!

What are the benefits of Part Exchange?

  • Move sooner: Part Exchange removes the delays and unknowns that come with selling your home on the open market
  • No chain: so no delays or stress caused by buyers pulling out at the last minute
  • No viewings or negotiations: because we’ll handle all of that for you
  • No estate agent fees: because we pay them for you
  • Move straight in: You can stay in your existing property until your new home has legally completed
  • Save money: if you need to move quickly, Part Exchange avoids the need for more expensive equity loan schemes or bridging loans

Is Part Exchange available on all homes?

Part Exchange is available on selected Charles Church plots. But it also depends on the property you’re selling. Speak to a Sales Executive at the development you’re interested in to find out if your current home meets our criteria for Part Exchange.

Am I eligible for Part Exchange?

You can take part in the Part Exchange scheme if you’re an existing homeowner looking to buy a new Charles Church property. Speak to a Sales Executive at the development you’re interested in to find out if your current home meets our criteria for Part Exchange.

Is Part Exchange the same as Home Change?

Part Exchange and Home Change are both schemes offered by Charles Church to help you sell your existing property, but there are subtle differences. With Home Change, we manage the sale of your property for you, but you own it until it’s sold. With Part Exchange, Charles Church actually buys your home off you – which frees you up to buy your new home and get you moving even more quickly.

How do I get started with Part Exchange?

Easy! If you’re interested in Part Exchange, speak to a Sales Executive at the development you’re interested in who will outline your options and get the ball rolling for you.

Part Exchange scheme terms and conditions

Part Exchange is available on selected plots and subject to status. Part Exchange is available to existing homeowners only.

If you’re eligible for Part Exchange, we’ll organise the sale of your existing home from start to finish for you. We’ll agree a fair and realistic price for your house with you, based on independent estate agent valuations.

A professional legal adviser is required to be engaged by you to carry out the legal formalities of buying the home and to represent your interests. You’ll still have to cover the costs of solicitor fees and any certifications (i.e. for gas and electrics etc) required as part of the normal selling/buying process.

If you’re currently marketing your home, you’ll be responsible for all related costs with your current selling agent. It’s your responsibility to ensure you serve sufficient notice if signed up to a sole agency agreement or similar.

Charles Church can provide you with a list of our recommended solicitors and/or financial advisors as necessary. Charles Church cannot advise you on a mortgage. Part Exchange is subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.

The Part Exchange scheme may not be available in conjunction with any other promotions or offers. Full details are available on request. YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON YOUR MORTGAGE OR OTHER DEBT SECURED ON IT.
