Lytham St Annes

Lytham St. Annes is one of the North West’s favourite places to live. It’s shoulder to shoulder with the energetic seaside resort of Blackpool, but along with its twin town of Lytham, it couldn’t be more different. Blackpool has the Pleasure Beach and Lytham St. Annes has the Royal Golf Course. A new home here really does give you the best of both worlds, seaside fun and family entertainment in Blackpool, and pretty residential streets and upmarket shopping in Lytham. The two are separated by the Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone, the local hub which has brought business, commerce and employment to the area.

Living in Lytham St Annes

Living here

You don’t have to be a golfer to appreciate the benefits that this sporting status has brought to the town. With international tournaments and a world-wide reputation, Lytham St. Annes has a strong local economy and that in turn has ensured that the town’s businesses and independent retail sector thrive for the benefit of all. The town has also got a Tesco Express, a Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Marks & Spencer and the local supermarket chain, Booths. St Anne's Beach is the local leisure amenity, with miles of sand and a long promenade with a pier. You can walk all the way along the seafront to Lytham.

On the move

Lytham St. Annes is 18 miles from Preston, one of Lancashire’s principal cities. The M55 is the motorway link between the coast and the M6. It comes to an end just outside Blackpool and from there the B5410 takes you into Lytham St. Annes. The train station is close to the town centre and is on the Blackpool to Preston line. Bus services along the Fylde Coast connect with Blackpool, Poulton-le-Fylde and Fleetwood as well as with the villages along the Ribble Estuary. The two nearest international airports are Manchester and Liverpool John Lennon.

Going to school

This is a popular place for retirees, but it's a great environment for growing families too. As well as the local primary schools, Lytham St. Annes High School provides secondary education. There’s also an independent grammar school, St Annes College. Another option for Post 16 education is Blackpool and The Fylde College, Bispham Campus.
