Charles Church

Rural Oxfordshire, the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – this is the environment surrounding Chinnor and making it a popular and attractive place to live.

The village is large enough to have a good range of local shops and facilities, including three pubs - and a superb gastro pub at the top of Chinnor Hill. As well as being in a lovely setting, Chinnor is just 40 miles from London and 30 minutes from Oxford. The M40 is the link between the two, and it's easy to reach Junctions 5 and 6. A new home here is also well placed for Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Reading and Maidenhead.

The Chiltern Hills are a wonderful backdrop, with countless walking and cycling trails to follow, woodland to explore and from the top, panoramic views across Oxfordshire.

Easy to get into the countryside

You can set off on foot into the glorious countryside of the Chiltern Hills, which spread across four counties. Whether you take a short stroll from Chinnor, or head for one of the longer walking routes or cycling trails, you’ll be rewarded with fabulous views. Some of Oxfordshire’s prettiest villages are nearby too, and you’ll enjoy finding your favourite country pub.

Local services

As well as a range of shops, Chinnor has two primary schools; St Andrew’s Church of England Primary School and Mill Lane Community Primary School. There’s a pre-school in the village too. Pupils go on to Lord Williams’s School in Thame – a specialist sports college - or Icknield Community College in Watlington which has humanities specialist status. There are a couple of convenience stores – including a Co-op service station, a library, playing fields and several sports clubs.
