Shopping
Bicester is well-known for its designer outlet shopping centre, Bicester Village, where you can find huge reductions on high street and luxury brand. For day-to-day shopping, however, the town also excels, thanks to a recent £70 million redevelopment scheme to expand the town centre attractions, including a new Sainsbury’s superstore, a multi-screen cinema and a plethora of new bars and restaurants. You can shop local at the weekly market, farmers’ market and bi-annual French market.
Excellent transport links
One of the reasons Bicester is such a popular place to buy a new home is its enviable location for commuters. The town lies close to the A41 which provides excellent links to Aylesbury and Oxford. A short distance away, the M40 allows for easy access to London and Birmingham, with both journeys taking roughly an hour. The town has two train stations with Bicester North running to Birmingham and London Marylebone and Bicester Village station running to the West Country, London Marylebone (45 minutes) and Oxford. For travel further afield, London Luton, Heathrow and Birmingham Airport are all about an hour’s drive.
A great choice for families
For families with children, Bicester offers a wide range of quality schooling. Your new build in Bicester has two secondary schools and nine primary schools, plus the new primary and secondary school on the new Kingsmere development will offer even more convenient choices. There’s also an abundance of nature reserves, green spaces and children’s parks in the locality so you can make the most of the outdoors.
