Lichfield

Lichfield is close enough to the great Midlands city of Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, and Wolverhampton, to be ideal for commuters, yet it’s separate enough to enjoy all the character and atmosphere of a historic cathedral city. It’s just outside the M6 (Toll) on its loop around the north of Birmingham, and it’s on the edge of the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is a city that really does put your new home in an environment that has the best of both worlds.

Living in Lichfield

Great connections

The M6 and the M6 (Toll) are just a short distance away, making journeys around Birmingham, to the North West, and to the South, convenient and easy. The average commuting time by train into Birmingham is 40 minutes. There are frequent bus services to the surrounding towns as well as into Birmingham.

City life

There’s a market town feel to this lovely city. There’s a market every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, loads of independent shops, art galleries, speciality, and gift shops.  The national supermarket brands are here too, and the Three Spires Shopping Centre is right in the city centre. Lichfield has plenty of green space, and its historic parks, incorporate Stowe Pool, the Minster Pool, and the Bishops Pool. A city that is on the tourist map is always going to be on the mark with cafés, restaurants, and bars, especially in the historic area around the cathedral.

School life

There are many primary schools to serve each catchment area. Students can then go on to the King Edward VI School, the Friary School, or Nether Stowe School. Lichfield Cathedral School is an independent day school.

Sports clubs you can join in with include rugby, football, tennis, hockey and cricket. The Friary Grange Leisure Centre, The King Edward VI Leisure Centre, the Burntwood Leisure Centre, and David Lloyd Lichfield will keep you on the go, and there’s a golf course at Beacon Park.
