Hethersett

Hethersett is just 20 minutes from Norwich – Norfolk’s historic cathedral city. This large village has all the local amenities to make it an excellent choice for your new home.

In addition, you’ll have all that the city has to offer on one hand and all that the lovely market town of Wymondham has on the other. Hethersett is halfway between the two. You’ll also be well connected to the whole county with a great network of direct routes, including the A11 which bypasses Hethersett on its way to Cambridge. Whether you need to travel for work or simply want easy access to the lovely countryside and coast, Hethersett is going to be a great starting point for you. The wide-open countryside is ideal for cycling and walking, there are countless ancient villages – and village pubs – and the Norfolk Coast, less than an hour’s drive away, is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Living in Hethersett

Getting from A to B

It’s just 6 miles to Norwich city centre and 5 miles to Wymondham, your two local centres for shopping and entertainment. The A11 and A47 are two of the main local routes linking Norwich with Cambridge and Great Yarmouth, while the A140 heads straight up to the coast at Cromer. Travel by train is a good option too, especially if you need to go to London. Norwich is on the Eastern mainline with services operated by Greater Anglia Trains.

Going to the beach

There are traditional resorts, pretty coastal villages and deserted wildlife havens along Norfolk’s coast. Whatever suits your family, there’s a day out by the sea waiting for you. Cromer, Wells-next-the-Sea, Blakeney and Hunstanton are amongst the favourites.

Closer to home

Hethersett has a great sporting reputation and plenty of facilities to go with it. It was the first UK village to be given the Big Society Award and there are numerous sports clubs to choose from. The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts is just a few miles away for a bit of culture. For a walk with the dog, the Ladybelt Country Park is just a short drive to the south of the village.
