Working life

Norwich University of the Arts and the University of East Anglia are among the main employers in the city, along with retail and tourism. If you work outside the city, the county’s A roads head out in all directions. The A47 will get you to Great Yarmouth, the A11 to Cambridge and then down towards London, the A11 joins the A134 for Bury St Edmunds, and the A140 to Ipswich. Norwich train station is the terminus for the Great Eastern mainline. Greater Anglia Trains operate services to London Liverpool Street and branch lines connect with Cambridge and Great Yarmouth. Norwich International Airport is 4 miles to the north of the city. Travel around the county by bus is made easy with First Bus Norfolk and Suffolk routes, along with other operators, so however you travel, you’ll feel well connected.
