Rothwell
Rothwell is surrounded by some of this area’s key towns – Kettering, Corby and Northampton in Rothwell’s home county of Northamptonshire, and Market Harborough in Leicestershire.This convenient location gives Rothwell a good reputation as a residential base that’s easy to get out and about from. The A6 and the A14 create its western and southern boundaries and it’s only 4 miles from Kettering, 7 miles from Market Harborough and 8 miles from Corby.
The town spreads out around two lovely green spaces near the town centre and the pretty Parish Church, Manor Park and the Rothwell Recreation Ground, and the main area for shops, cafés and other services is centred around Market Hill.

As well as a range of local shops, a Tesco Express and a Co-op, this easy-going town offers schools for your children – including a secondary school, cafés for your friends, and parks to walk the dog in.
Kettering is only a short drive away and you’ll have all the extras that you might want there. It’s got a shopping centre, a hospital, a wider range of larger supermarkets – including a Tesco Extra, and there’s a mainline train station.
Road and rail
Rothwell is well-placed for commuters and there’s easy access from the town to the key routes across the area. In addition to the local main roads, the M1 and M6 are only about 20 miles to the west.
Kettering’s train station provides rail services on the Midland Main Line. The average journey time by train to London St Pancras is just over one hour. The short commute by train to Corby is only about 10 minutes.
Further afield
For a change of scenery, try the Rutland Water Nature Reserve. It’s a vast wetland area with lakes, islands and fabulous bird-life to watch. Grafham Water is another local landmark, for walks and water sports.
