East Leake

No need to be confused – East Leake is in Nottinghamshire, but the closest town is Loughborough in Leicestershire. What’s clear is that this is an ideal location if you need to go to Derby and Nottingham too. In fact, a new home here is pretty much at the centre of the East Midlands.

This large village sits midway between the M1 and the A46 and many of the smaller cross-country routes keeping this area well-connected are straight and straightforward. Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire’s landscape is gentle and there’s a great balance between the cities, the towns and the countryside.

Living in East Leake

What East Leake has to offer

For families with children there are two primary schools and a secondary school. For the energetic amongst you, there’s a leisure centre with a swimming pool, the Rushcliffe Golf Club and several other sports clubs which all welcome new members.

For convenience, there’s a Co-op, a post office and a small range of local shops. To round up the day, there are four pubs to choose from. This is a family-friendly place with a good community spirit.

Loughborough

Loughborough is a large market town, and it offers all the back-up that East Leake might want, in terms of amenities and services. It’s just 6 miles to the south, taking about 15 minutes by car to reach the town centre.

There’s a mainline station here, with services to Leicester, Bedford, Luton and London St Pancras – all to the south – and to Lincoln, Derby, Sheffield Leeds and York to the north. That’s an excellent set of connections for work and pleasure. Loughborough’s Market Place and Market Street create the main shopping area and The Rushes Shopping Centre completes the picture when it comes to retail therapy.

A breath of fresh air

Days out for all the family and downtime with the dog are good for the soul. The Rushcliffe Country Park and Bunny Old Wood – that will appeal to our four-legged friends – are local country parks.

The Spring Lakes Watersports and Leisure Centre at Long Eaton and the Attenborough Nature Reserve make the most of the waterways and lakes alongside the River Trent. For a real change of scenery, East Midlands Airport is only 9 miles away.
