Eastleigh

Eastleigh is between Southampton and Winchester. Two great cities for their own reasons. Southampton for its maritime heritage and seafaring lifestyle, and Winchester for its ancient history and historic cathedral. Both are important economic centres too.

This town is in the ideal location for local commuting throughout south west Hampshire, and the M3 is a direct route to Greater London and the M25, passing through Surrey on its way. Travel plans and work apart, this is a beautiful part of the country to set up home. To the west, you have the New Forest and the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and to the east you have the South Downs National Park. With these great open spaces and the busy life of Southampton, you will find a great balance.

Living in Eastleigh

Home town

Eastleigh has a lot going for it. There’s a railway station on the South West Main Line from Waterloo, there’s a good shopping centre, there are primary schools, a secondary school and two further education colleges, a great variety of sports clubs and the town is home to Southampton Airport for holiday destinations across Europe. What a lot to have on your doorstep.

City life

Southampton’s city centre is just 5 miles away. You can get there by train in 15 minutes. That’s a real plus point in your decision about a new home. The city offers great shopping, services, and leisure and entertainment venues. The well-respected university adds another dimension to life here and that is always a good thing. There’s a proud maritime history here too. This is the city that the Titanic sailed from in 1912, and it’s still a major port on our south coast.

National Parks

You are spoilt for choice here. The New Forest and the South Downs each have their own unique landscapes. Both are so accessible from Eastleigh. A  little further afield, the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is perfect for a memorable day out too.
