There are three supermarkets within 3 miles, and Sunderland city centre is less than 5 miles away. The Silkworth Leisure Centre, a sports complex that includes a dry ski slope, is just under 3 miles away but best of all is Ryhope Beach, just a mile away from our new homes. Schools, local shops and places to eat are included in the amenities that will be close to home.
Not only is Sunderland a mainline station, but it’s also connected to the Tyne & Wear Metro system. That means easy travel to the main centres around Newcastle Upon Tyne. A train from Sunderland will get you to Newcastle International Airport in an hour, or into Newcastle itself in just over 20 minutes. Services heading south will take you to Middlesbrough.
Ryhope Beach is part of the Durham Heritage Coastline. Pick up the coastal path and stretch your legs along the exciting North Sea coast to Seaham, a popular seaside resort. For the unspoilt countryside of the Durham Dales, head inland and head for the hills.
