Hebburn
Hebburn is close to the action of the exciting city of Newcastle upon Tyne. It’s got its own spot on the south bank of the Tyne between Jarrow and Gateshead, giving easy access to city life, the Metrocentre shopping mecca at Gateshead and the long sandy beaches at South Shields.
That all means a long list of amenities and things to do for all the family, from quiet life to nightlife, from city life to seaside life.

Local facilities
Hebburn has two secondary schools, a choice of primary schools, a station stop on the Tyne and Wear Metro, plenty of bus services, a fabulous riverside park and great sports facilities. ALDI is the largest supermarket and there are smaller convenience stores too. This is a predominantly residential area with amenities for all to make the most of.
Getting around
The Tyne and Wear Metro is an excellent way to travel, quick, easy and with services running every 3 minutes. It’s an overground and underground network for Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, North and South Tyneside and Sunderland. The key road routes to either side of Hebburn are the A19 and the A184. The A19 goes all the way to York via Middlesbrough and Stockton-on-Tees.
City break
If you want a breath of fresh air away from the town and the city, you can head into the North Pennines – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Closer to home you can have a blast of North Sea air at South Shields. There’s a fantastic sandy beach there for the family to enjoy on a summer day, and it’s a great place for a walk out of season too.
