Travel and transport

Ashford’s mainline railway station provides regular train services to London, including the Javelin High-Speed train which takes you to London St Pancras in just 38 minutes. The town is conveniently placed for access to the M20 motorway, linking with Maidstone and Folkestone. The Eurotunnel at Folkestone is just a 20-minute drive away, the ferry at Dover is 45 minutes away, and the Ashford International Eurostar service gets you to Paris in just 2 hours. Southend and Heathrow airports an hour and a half away.

Ashford has everything you could want from a large town – a sense of community and identity, yet with all the shops, facilities and attractions you could need. The main town centre retail venues are the County Square Shopping Centre and Park Mall Shopping Centre. Another highly popular multi-purpose retail centre is the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet, which is just to the south of the town.

 

Local schools

There are five secondary schools in the area; Cornfields School, The North School, The Wyvern School, The John Wallis Church of England School, and Towers School and Sixth Form Centre. The Highworth Grammar School is another option. A choice of eleven primary schools feed into the secondary education system.
