A special proposal for first time buyers
23 March 2012
A young Devonshire woman got more than she bargained for when stepping through the threshold of her new home, after getting engaged on the same day.
Jessica Meaker, from Hartland, and husband-to-be James McEldon, from Appledore, were moving into their first home together when James dropped to one knee in celebration of the occasion.
Having organised the day prior to their move in date, James had ensured a bottle of champagne could be hidden in the kitchen cupboard and spoke to a member of the Charles Church sales team, who made a swift exit once the final papers had been signed.
Jessica said: “It was such a special day and one I will never forget. I had no idea of James’ plans but it was a lovely surprise. What more could a girl ask for than a new home and a husband-to-be all in one day.”
Jessica and James have moved into a luxury three bedroom terrace house at the Charles Church Westward Reach development in Bideford.
Sales and marketing director at Charles Church South West, Nina Hester, said: “This is a lovely story and I’m glad we were able to assist in making the day extra special for them. They have bought a beautiful home in one of the area’s most popular developments; perfect for first time buyers.
“I’d like to wish them all the best in their new home.”
