Brand ambassador selected for sense of style

An exceptional sense of style has seen a Wymondham homeowner selected to act as a brand ambassador by a premium housebuilder.

Hannah Parsons was approached by Charles Church after posting images on Instagram of her stunningly decorated, elegant dream home at Oakwood Park.
“Our Gainsborough style house was exactly what we were looking for,” she said. “Attractive, three bedrooms, semi-detached and it had the layout we dreamt of with French doors from the kitchen to the garden. As soon as we saw it, we knew it was ‘the one’.
“Dean and I moved in a year ago, and I’m lucky that he pretty much goes along with whatever I want to do in the house. Which is good, because I love interior styling.
“I chose grey as the main colour scheme because I think it is such a versatile neutral. We have the same grey carpet throughout the house, giving flow and continuity, but each room has different twists of accent colour.
“I’m just working on my dressing room and that is grey with touches of pink. We used slightly different shades from the same colour range, so each room has its own mood, but is tied together within the tone-on-tone colour palette.”
One of the main selling points of the house for Hannah and fiancé Dean was the dual aspect living room – and the couple has certainly put their own stamp on it.
“Our lounge is a lovely bright and airy room, with windows on two walls, so it is bathed in light all day. I was online looking for inspiration for the wall behind the TV and couldn’t find the right wallpaper when I spotted someone who had used panelling, and that was exactly what the room needed.
“We measured up and worked out how then panels would fit, then went to Homebase who cut all the wood for us. Dean stuck it all to the wall and I did the filling, priming and painting. It was really straightforward to create, and we are so happy with the result – it totally transforms the room.
“The panelling gives us a gorgeous feature wall that gives subtle texture and brings an architectural element to what would otherwise be a plain wall.
“We love the way it changes as the light moves across the room during the day. In fact, we are thinking of adding panelling to the master bedroom too as we love the effect so much.”
With a wedding to organise, former Miss Norfolk Hannah could be forgiven for putting the home makeover to one side for a while, but she’s not ready to put down her paintbrush just yet.
“There is some more painting to do in the hallway, so plenty more design and decorating to keep me busy!”
