Charles Church boss leads team in charity run

26 March 2019

The managing director of one of Charles Church South Midlands is swapping his suit for running shorts to help raise cash for a special charity with a team of colleagues.

Charles Church South Midlands’ boss Richard Oldroyd will lead a nine-man team from the company taking part in the Stratford Big 10K run to boost funds for the Acorns children’s hospice.

Richard and colleagues Alison Reading, Joe Turner, Pete Walker, Fiona Breslin, Sue Farran, Vicky Norris, Richard Price and Amanda Rogers, hope to raise more than £2,000 for the charity by completing the run on September 8.

Richard said the group was already in training and pledges of sponsorship were starting to flood in.

“This is an incredibly worthwhile cause that desperately needs our support and we want to do everything we can to raise as much money for it as possible,” said Richard.

“We are all training as hard as possible and looking forward to what should be a really fantastic day. I am sure there will be times during the training and the run itself when we wonder what we are doing, but the knowledge that we are helping fund such an important charity will help drive us on.”

The team has set up a Just Giving page where donations can be made securely online here.

Donations can also be sent by texting CCSM99 £2/£5/£10 to 70070.
