South Coast region sponsors school sports day in thanks for development name
The premium housebuilder demonstrated its commitment to the local community surrounding one of its developments, by sponsoring the neighbouring school’s end-of-term sports day.
The donation by Charles Church South Coast helped to ensure a successful event at Archbishop Wake School at Blandford Forum, and continued the close relationship between the sites begun when students at the school came up with the name for the Beaumont Park new homes development.
Rob Allen, sales director at Charles Church South East, said: “While the eyes of the world might be on the events in London, here in Dorset we’ve been enjoying our own sporting spectacular.
“Archbishop Wake School takes an active interest in local events and the whole school turned out to see the Olympic torch coming through Blandford, inspiring the students to achieve their own ‘personal bests’ at their sports day.
“Because we take very seriously our responsibility to the local communities where we build, we were pleased to help make the school event as exciting for the pupils as the Games have been for the competitors in London.
“The children even had their own medals and torches, to make the day extra special.”
Beaumont Park, on Wimbourne Road, is a development of three and four bedroom homes, close to the centre of Blandford Forum.
Seven year old Sasha from the Sea Turtles class at Archbishop Wake School won a competition to name the site earlier this year with a suggestion that inspired the name ‘Beaumont Park’.
