Furniture auction raises thousands for children's charity

Charles Church South West has raised thousands of pounds for a local children’s charity by holding a fundraising auction.
We were delighted after the furniture auction raised more than £2,600 for Play Torbay, a small voluntary sector organisation which offers free play opportunities and adventure activities for youngsters.
We held the auction at the Great Woodcote Park showhome, in Exeter, where people queued up outside in order to bid for the lots.
Tanny Stobart, who founded Play Torbay, said: “We are very grateful that Charles Church South West chose to support Play Torbay through this furniture auction.
The money raised will help us reach even more children, and will really make a difference to their lives and provide them with lots of exciting things to do for free.”
The charity also has a team of experienced inclusion workers to support disabled young people so they do not have to miss out on adventure and play opportunities.
Nina Hester, sales and marketing director for the South West, added: “We were delighted at the number of people who turned up for the auction. It is wonderful to raise this much money for a service that directly benefits and helps people in the area.”
Great Woodcote Park, in Admiral Way, off Tophsam Road, offers an exclusive range of four and five-bedroom homes.
