Green light given for 209 new homes outside Tewkesbury
10 May 2023
Approval has been granted by Tewkesbury Borough Council for the creation of 209 new homes in Fiddington, located to the south east of the town.
Delivered by our South Midlands region, Fiddington Fields will bring a mix of apartments and house styles, helping to meet local housing needs, with 35% of homes to be transferred to an affordable housing provider for rent and shared ownership.
As part of the development in Fiddington, millions will be pledged to support infrastructure delivery and ensure economic development. Boasting a number of proposed community benefits, the wider site will also bring a range of facilities to the local community, including a new primary school, local centre and areas for recreation.
The site aims to align itself with Tewkesbury Borough Council’s ambitions for the Garden Town, contributing towards the creation of a sustainable community and encouraging sustainable travel by giving cyclists and pedestrians priority as well as solar panels and EV charging points installed on all properties.
Russell Griffin, Managing Director for South Midlands said “We’re delighted to have received approval for our development at Fiddington and I want to thank Tewkesbury Borough Council for their support. Not only will the development deliver 209 quality new homes, it will also create 80 local jobs as part of the construction, and generate a significant investment in the local economy.
“We’re committed to creating vibrant, successful communities and supporting more local families in getting their dream homes. We’ll continue to work in partnership with the Council and other stakeholders to ensure our development at Fiddington delivers real benefits for the whole community.”
