Hats off to school children for winning Easter bonnet designs
12 April 2012
Children at a Northampton primary school held an Easter bonnet parade with a distinct difference as hidden beneath the traditional scene of bunnies, chicks and ribbons was a builder’s hard hat.
The hats were presented to the reception children of Kings Cliffe Endowed Primary School, by regional house builder Charles Church East Midlands to celebrate the opening of its Sovereign Grange development.
As children paraded their creations, the hats were judged and the most imaginative youngsters were awarded with art packs. However, to ensure that the rest of the class didn’t miss out, Charles Church gave out Easter eggs and presented the school’s art department with a cheque for £200.
Cheryl Bissett, Charles Church East Midlands sales and marketing director, said: “The idea behind the campaign was to give an unusual twist to a traditional Easter bonnet parade and we thought that by giving pupils hard hats we would achieve just that. It was a great event and the children had a lots of fun.”
Charles Church Sovereign Grange is a newly built development in Kings Cliffe comprising a range of luxury three, four and five bedroom homes.
