Kislingbury pupils enjoy Charles Church site visit

05 March 2013

Lucky pupils from Kislingbury CE Primary School left the classroom behind recently to visit the Charles Church site Sycamore Gardens, as a practical addition to their topic work.

Fourteen pupils from the Early Years Foundation Stage were given the opportunity to see a working development as well as have a good look around the showhome. The children were able to try out for size Charles Church hard hats and high vis jackets, and were given a fascinating tour by site manager Lee Tysoe.

Mrs Lucy Winrow, reception class teacher at the school, said: “'The staff at Sycamore Gardens were very welcoming. It was an excellent experience for all the children and this was their first visit since starting school in September.”

Headteacher at Kislingbury, Mrs Janet Northing, commented:  “'As a school we are very keen to build good links with the local community. The children were very excited about their visit and talked enthusiastically about the things they had seen on their return to school.”

Delighted by the group’s enthusiasm, sales manager for Charles Church Midlands, Debbie Box, said: “It was a pleasure to have the children visit us on our development. They were a credit to the school – and I think  we spotted a few budding site managers among them!

“We hope they found the visit interesting and that it will be a valuable addition to their usual day to day schooling.”
