New homes help to fund pavilion improvements

Residents of a Buckinghamshire village can now enjoy a refurbished community hub.
Funding was provided to Cheddington Parish Council for the village pavilion from Midlands, negotiated as part of the planning agreement for the Orchard Manor development.
Regional technical manager Tom White said: “We always aim to work closely with local communities to ensure our new developments help to deliver the facilities needed by that neighbourhood.
“In the case of Orchard Manor, the Parish Council needed support to bring the village pavilion up to standard, so this was the ideal focus for funding delivered through the Section 106 agreement as part of the planning consent for our development.
“We are thrilled to see how the pavilion has been upgraded, ensuring it will remain a focal point for the community for many years to come.”
The Charles Church Section 106 contribution to Cheddington will be £346,342. This is specifically to enable improvements to the pavilion and play provision in Cheddington village. Some has already been spent on the extensive refurbishment of the pavilion which residents have been able to see for themselves during special viewing days. The remainder of the S106 monies will be drawn down from Buckinghamshire Council, when required, to renew the play equipment at The Green.
Cheddington Parish Council members said: “As a village we continually strive to improve and enhance life for our residents. Receiving the financial contributions from Charles Church Midlands allowed us to turn our ambitious plans for the pavilion into reality.
“The pavilion is owned and managed by the Parish Council, for the local community to use. The facility is available for hire and includes a large community space, heated by an environmentally friendly air source heat pump, a well-equipped kitchen and a secure dedicated children’s play area.
“We expect the upgraded pavilion to serve many generations of Cheddington residents.”
Orchard Manor is a collection of three, four and five-bedroom homes within easy reach of all Cheddington’s amenities and close to road and rail networks to Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard, Milton Keynes and into London.
