New play area opens in East Sussex development
19 September 2025
A new play area has opened at our Harlands Park community in East Sussex, offering a range of equipment from tunnels and slides to a swing set the whole family can enjoy at once.
The play space at the development in Uckfield is divided into two key areas with each aimed at a different age group. They sit within a raised green area at the heart of the new community, surrounded by areas of wildflower planting that create colour and promote biodiversity.
To celebrate the completion of the play space, residents and neighbours were invited to a ceremonial opening with ice creams provided for all guests.
Claire Wright, Head of Sales for Charles Church South East, cut the ribbon with Kathy Butler, Town Councillor for Uckfield New Town.
Cllr Butler said:
“To see so many families here today making use of the play equipment shows just how much of an asset this is to not only this development, but the whole community.
“I am honoured to be cutting the ribbon and officially opening this important play space that I know will be well used for many years to come.”
Head of Sales at Charles Church South East Claire Wright added:
“The play park has been built on what was our site compound and now we have moved off we have been able to completely transform this space to create a welcoming green space for everyone to enjoy.
“We pride ourselves on leaving a lasting legacy and this playground does just that, it provides a focal point for the community and will encourage families to spend more time outside.”
