Norfolk development sees a surge in sales
06 August 2014
Home buyers have been busy snapping up fabulous family homes in a charming Norfolk market town.
Sales advisors at Charles Church Anglia's Oaklands development in Wymondham say that business has been booming since the start of 2014.
Michelle Baker, one of the advisors, put the increased interest down to improvements in the economy, the Government’s Help to Buy scheme and Charles Church’s Home Change scheme.
Michelle said: “Sales have really taken off since January. There seems to be real optimism around the market.”
“I think there is increased confidence in the economy which has improved house sales right across the country. The Help to Buy scheme has really helped to get things moving and our Part Exchange schemes have also proved popular.”
“This is a wonderful development of family homes and we wouldn’t expect the remaining ones to be available for too long.”
There are currently 14 houses for sale at Oaklands with 24 more due to be released at a later date.
There is a wide variety of homes currently available, including three and four bedroom detached and semi-detached houses, with prices from £192,950.
The development is located on Norwich Common at the edge of Wymondham with convenient access to the town centre.
Michelle said that properties had been snapped up by a wide range of buyers, including young couples, families, professionals and older couples who are downsizing.
Under the Help to Buy scheme, people buying a new-build home need as little as a five per cent deposit to secure a 75 per cent mortgage while the Government supplies up to 20 per cent of the purchase price in the form of an equity loan, which is interest free and repayment free for the first five years.
The Charles Church Home Change scheme, meanwhile, uses the company’s expertise and contacts to sell customers’ current homes. Charles Church arrange at least two estate agent valuations and agree a price with the customer. They then appoint the estate agents to market the property, all without any agent fees for the customer.
