Penrith owners create their 'forever home'
05 August 2021
The newest Charles Church brand ambassador has settled with his partner into what he describes as his ‘forever home’.
Postman Richard Watson, who moved to the Woodberry Heights site in April, says the location is perfect for himself and partner Martin, who owns a garden centre just 40 minutes away from their new home.
“The first house we bought together was a Persimmon Homes new-build in Carlisle. We wanted to relocate somewhere a little closer to work, sticking with the company’s newbuilds and Woodberry Heights from Persimmon’s sister brand was ideal for us.
“Our new property is perfect. The location, the space, the layout – it all just works great, and we are so happy.”
As well as being closer to work, the development is also on the doorstep of the beautiful Lake District, which Penrith boy Richard says is a great bonus for him.
“The bedrooms are all perfect sizes, but my favourite room has to be the kitchen/family room. It’s so open and welcoming – you could definitely say we have gone a bit more upmarket on this one.”
As well as the spacious family area, the Compton style house also has a separate living room, five large bedrooms and a double garage.
Richard said: “We decided to steer away from an all-grey interior, adding darker features around the house.
“We took décor ideas from various Instagram pages and a lot of our furniture and accessories are selected from either MADE, Olivia’s or Next. We wanted more individual pieces which showed off our personal taste.”
Although extremely settled, Richard said that the house is still very much an ongoing project for Martin and himself.
“We can’t decorate just yet until everything in the house has fully dried out, but we have already started to look into various wallpaper and paint samples for when the day finally does come.”
