Plans submitted for New Kingswood development in Dunfermline

Persimmon Homes North Scotland and Charles Church unveil proposal for 149 new homes as part of a new residential led masterplan in South-West Dunfermline.

Persimmon Homes North Scotland, in partnership with premium sister brand Charles Church, has submitted the first detailed planning application for housing as part of the masterplan known as ‘Kingswood’ which received Planning Permission in Principle approval in 2023 for a development proposal delivering over 2,150 new homes; retail, commercial and community facilities including a new school. Persimmon’s proposals are part of Phase 1 of the masterplan, situated to the west of the site, accessed from Limekilns Road.

The proposed development will deliver 149 new Charles Church homes ranging from two- to five-bedroom properties. The project will enhance the local housing market by offering a blend of high-quality homes, with a particular focus on enhancing the material finishes of each unit. The homes will be set within a thoughtfully designed landscape, featuring useable open spaces and shared-surface streets throughout the site. The development will also provide seamless connections to the wider Kingswood site and the nearby primary school, further integrating it into the community.

Work on the Kingswood development is expected to begin in February 2026, with the first homes set to be occupied by September 2026. The project is anticipated to generate 56 local jobs, with a further 42 roles created within the supply chain, supporting the local economy.
