Prestigious award for Norwich development, Fellows Plain
26 October 2012
The team at luxury housebuilder, Charles Church Anglia, are celebrating after winning the top accolade at a key regional industry event – the LABC East Anglia Building Excellence Awards for its prestigious renovation of the old Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.
The LABC is a member organisation representing local authority building control departments and Charles Church’s Fellowes Plain development was recognised at this year’s East Anglia awards ceremony for its high standards of design, construction and workmanship throughout the build. Along with designer Feilden and Mawson llp and local contractors RG Carter, Charles Church has not only brought a redundant and historic building back to life, but has also created a beautiful and desirable place to live.
Charles Church has been selected as a Finalist and will now go on to compete in the National LABC Awards which will be held in London later this year.
Commenting on the award win, Michael Goldney, commercial director for Charles Church Anglia, stated: “This regional award means a great deal to the team at Charles Church as Fellowes Plain has been a truly exciting project since we started. We’re all really looking forward to the national finals in November.
“Our aim was to retain and incorporate the much loved history of the old Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, while also producing a magnificent, yet affordable, series of apartments for sale in Norwich that people could call home.”
Of Charles Church’s achievements, the East Anglia LABC judges called Fellowes Plain: “A transformation of an institutional site to high quality accommodation retaining unique original features.”
Fellowes Plain has now sold out, but Charles Church is urging those looking for a brand new apartment in Norwich to still register their interest in case there are any cancellations in the forthcoming weeks.
