Storybook heaven for local school children
22 November 2010
It’s fair to say one of our favourite pastimes when we were younger was being read to just before bedtime, and Charles Church Midlands recognises the importance of keeping books alive for the benefit of children. For this reason, the leading housebuilder has celebrated National Storytelling Week recently, by inviting pupils from Scott Lower School to its development, Woodlands Park in Brickhill, Bedford, where ten children had their favourite book read aloud to them by on site sales adviser, Vanessa Bunn.
Claire Lambert, head of sales for Charles Church Midlands, said: “National Storytelling Week is a great initiative to support as it encourages children to sit and read instead of playing on the computer or watching the television, which is why we felt it was important to highlight.
“We were thoroughly pleased to host the session and hope the children enjoyed their stories. We look forward to seeing them back again next year with a new book for 2011.”
Anita Barker, Head Teacher at Scott Lower School, comments: “We are very keen to promote a love of literature at our school and were absolutely delighted to receive the invitation to the session that Charles Church was hosting. All of the children enjoyed themselves and it was a lovely afternoon for everyone.”
National Storytelling Week aims to increase public awareness of the art, practice and values of storytelling.
Woodlands Park currently offers a range of four bedroom executive homes, priced from £215,995 to £420,000. It is nestled amid beautiful Bedfordshire countryside, but is still deceptively close to Bedford’s city centre which is less than two miles away and features a host of shopping and leisure facilities alongside a range of excellent schools.
For further information on the homes available at Woodlands Park please visit the marketing suite and show home open Thursday to Monday, from 10am until 5pm. Alternatively, call 01234 347 991 or visit www.charleschurch.com
