Bullet train bonus for Ashford commuters
22 November 2010
The new 140mph commuter train made its debut trip from Ashford to London earlier this year bringing welcome news for househunters in the area after it dramatically slashed existing journey times. In the wake of the new bullet train and with a range of purchasers, including commuters, interested in the properties at Charles Church Southern’s Bridgefield development near Ashford, the UK’s finest homebuilder has offered commuters an added bonus. Anyone who reserves at the development will receive a free annual rail ticket into London meaning residents can take full advantage of the new service.*
Located perfectly within the commuter belt to London, Ashford has long been a hotspot for people who want to work in the City but enjoy a quieter and more peaceful home life. Currently the journey into work for London commuters takes around an hour and 24 minutes, however, the high-speed bullet train is set to reduce this to just over half an hour, delivering passengers to St Pancras.
Tracey Lee, sales director for Charles Church Southern, explains why this means good news for househunters in the area; “Although Ashford has always been able to provide a direct train into London, the length of the journey can be off putting for those who don’t want to endure a long commute, meaning they miss out on everything Ashford has to offer.
“The new bullet train is fantastic news for the area as it means those living here will truly benefit from the best of both worlds, a peaceful and picturesque market town to come home to and relax in, plus, the ability to reach the City in just over half an hour.
“To welcome the launch of the new train we decided to offer commuters a little extra incentive to lighten the load. We understand that the time and cost involved in commuting can be a big factor when it comes to considering whether or not to buy a new home so we developed this idea in the hope that it can help take some of the strain away.”
When complete, Bridgefield will consist of a number of two, three and four bedroom homes in a range of differing traditional two storey styles.
A select number of the three bedroom homes are available through the company’s commitment to the Government-supported 70 per cent HomeBuy Direct scheme, meaning househunters could pay as little as £132,965 for their brand new home.
Ashford hosts all the local amenities expected of a modern market town, with local and high street shops, bars, restaurants and cafés, a number of good local schools, healthcare and leisure facilities.
